Glenburn Tea Estate pic‘Glenburn is a heavenly little plantation retreat that lies on a hillock above the banks of the River Rungeet, high in the Himalayas, overlooked by the mighty Kanchenjunga mountain range.

Started by a Scottish tea company in 1859, Glenburn then passed into the hands of one of India’s pioneering tea planting families – The Prakashes, One of India’s pioneering tea-planting families, we have, over the years, come to be known as the “Chaiwala family“ – which literally means “tea planters“.’

This fascinating setting has been inspired by the vineyard experiences found across Europe. How leaf tea is planted, cultivated and cropped, as well as made into the product we know on our local store shelves. The Glenburn Tea Estate experience is designed to educate, entertain and satisfy their visitor’s thirst for knowledge.

There are two bungalows to provide estate guests with elegant and comfortable accommodation. Each building has four suites, and has access to gardens, verandahs and terraces.

‘All meals, snacks and refreshments are included in the tariff, and we plan all the menus according to the select preferences of each guest. The menus comprise a range of cuisine – from interesting local fare and traditional Indian dishes, to exotic South-East Asian delicacies, and a variety of European dishes making full use of the fresh Italian herbs, and salad leaves we grow in our well-stocked kitchen garden. We try to source as much fruit, vegetables, herbs and spices as we can from our own garden, so feel free to plan your own menu based on what’s in season! Family recipes including Tea-Leaf Pakoras, Chocolate Brownies, Tibetan Momos and Burmese Khow Suey – all served to you with a discrete but attentive Glenburn touch’.

The Estate provides its own bread, marmalade, cakes and cookies for guests. The experience sounds sublime.

coffeeEntrepreneurPicWe were really pleased to see a feature on Anna at Caffe Carino in Enterprise Express this week.

This weekly e-publication for small businesses, created by the Federation for Small Businesses, is a great resource for traders and business people both in food and drink and across all other business sectors in South & East Yorkshire.

Anna is very happy to offer insights into starting a new business, reflecting upon both the current economic climate and getting started in business as a young person too.

We think her passion for good coffee shines through, as well as her drive to create a viable business that will create employment for other young people too.

You can read Anna’s Enterprise Express feature on our in the press page here.

You can find the home page for the FSB in South and East Yorkshire here.

Yesterday we had our presentation to the successful graphic designer Liam Warsop, who created our new logo to support the Caffe Carino brand.

The successful design is displayed behind the group in this photograph.

Liam is a student on the Foundation Graphic Design course at Norton College, part of The Sheffield College.

The cheque and our gratitude was presented to Liam by Anna Phipps, Head of Operations at Caffe Carino. Anna thanked Liam …for his inspirational work and was delighted to see both how much new technology the college makes available to students, but also how supportive and creative the atmosphere at the College was.

Liam was supported at the ceremony by Paul Clarkson, Graphic Design Lecturer at Norton College and by Deborah Pinder, Enterprise Development Manager for the College.

Tim Smith, a director of JFC (Yorkshire) Limited the Caffe Carino parent company, told Liam …how delighted the team were to have their new logo, and that the team would watch Liam’s graphic design career with interest.

Norton College Foundation Graphic Design students are shortly to go to New York as part of their studies and we hope the additional prize funds come in useful.

Thanks to Norton College for making us so welcome – we hope to return with more design competitions and prizes in the future.

You can see our Design page on the Caffe Carino website here.

Our coffee delivery vision for urban centres is based upon the development of the Piaggio Ape.

Pronounced  ahh – peh – the vehicle range is named after the  bee in Italian.

If you have ever been stuck in the Italian mountains behind a haystack that appears to be moving slowly of its own volition up the twisty track – you will have heard this Italian bee for sure.

In production since 1948, this light panelled van has undergone numerous design conversions and is employed in a wide variety of markets, from mobile advertising to plain urban deliveries.

We are workng in partnership with Coffee Latino, a design and manufacturing company in the mobile coffee market, to deliver another fresh variant on the Ape theme.

Coffee Latino are market leaders in their industry, based in the North East of England, and we are delighted to working with their great team to establish our new business, both now and in the future.

Check back regularly for images and news of our developments…

Here is an Ape we saw on a recent coffee research trip to Italy – still going strong after many years. A comfort to know that such an investment is so dogged.

Our vision is to create a fantastic point of sale from such units, albeit fresh from the factory.

Unique, lively and entertaining.

With real walk-up appeal and taste sensations.

Come back shortly to see our before and after pictures. You’ll be amazed at what our supplier can do with the Italian raw materials that go into our vehicles.

Ape heaven…if only this keyboard would do accents too!

If you need an exciting new mobile coffee vendor for your event – use our contact us page on our main website. We are always happy to book in advance.

The JFC Team…

We have a mission!

To deliver the best mobile coffee service in the North of England…

We are currently working on our vehicles, Anna is compiling our marketing database  and Tim is in the North collecting all the bits needed to open our new Sheffield storage facility.

We love coffee, we love events and promotions. We want to use our skills to promote your business, but along the way create training and employment opportunities for young people.

Coffee is in demand and there is a real thirst for new skills in the current economic climate. Our aim is to serve up both to the best of our ability.
